TOKYO, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower on Friday, as market players' confidence was hurt by reports that COVID-19 vaccine dispatch will be halved by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE due to supply chain problems.

When the market opened here, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average decreased 52.74 points, or 0.20 percent, from Thursday to 26,756.63.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 0.40 point, or 0.02 percent, at 1,774.85.

Air transportation, electric appliance, and real estate issues comprised those that decreased the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
